We’re working together with a photographer who wants to make an exhibition on how it is to live in a family location. You’ll find her call-out below. Do you live in a family location and are you interested in participating in this project? Send us a message on facebook or email to geenkindaandekant@gmail.com!
Call-out
My name is Anna Charalampidi and I’m a fourth-year photography student in the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague.
There are a lot of things in this world that I don’t understand.
A lot of things that can’t be true.
Like war.
I’m not hoping for a miracle or that the world will change from one day to another. At the same time, I just can’t close my eyes and pretend that everything is alright.
I can’t accept that in the Netherlands, a civilized and multicultural country, kids are being deported in their countries that are at war.
I can’t accept that a family that has found shelter after being rescued from the war is still living under a constant fear of violence.
For all these reasons and even more I want to come closer to the families situated live in the “family locations” and support them through the medium of photography which is the best way that I know.
Through this project I want to add my voice to your voice and together with “Geen kind aan de kant” to raise awareness about the situation that you are facing every day.
I will visit your location, get to know you and learn your stories. In order for this project to be successful I would need to take some photos of you but only with your consent.
I don’t intend to publish this project in a newspaper or a magazine but if there is a possibility, I will do it only with your approval.
If you like to be a part of this project please let us know as soon as possible.
The more the people, the stronger our message!
